Bulk carrier purchased by MSS to arrive this month
Managing Director of Maldives State Shipping (MSS) Abdulla Saeed has stated that the bulk carrier purchased by the company will arrive in the Maldives later this month. The bulk career will become the largest cargo vessel to operate in the Maldives.
Speaking to PSM News, Managing Director Saeed said work has been completed to register and hand over the vessel and that it will be carrying construction material for State Trading Organisation (STO) when it arrives in the Maldives. He said the bulk career will boost the construction industry in the country, as MSS will allow any company to bring in construction material using the vessel.
Additionally, MSS Galena, the first ship purchased by MSS made its maiden call at the Male’ Commercial Harbour late last year. The ship has the capacity to carry 780 containers, a 60-tonne crane, and 60 barrels.
MSS is a shipping and logistics company owned by State Trading Organisation (STO), offering an extensive international liner shipping service. The company has stated it is working to expand its fleet as well as develop its human resources by providing more employment and career opportunities.
